This book was about how a wizard, Harry Potter meets a house elf named Dobby. Dobby tells Harry that horrible things are happening at Hogwarts and that he must not go back. Harry doesn’t listen and goes anyway.Ron Weasley and Harry go to the train station.They try to go through the barrier, but something is stopping them. Then Ron has an idea. “Lets go in the invisible car!” so Harry and Ron hop in the car and start going. They fly through the city of London. It starts out fine until the invisibility button stops working. They have no idea that a Muggle had seen them. They look for the Hogwarts Express. They go right in front of the track.They start hearing the train but they can’t see it. They hear it right behind them. they turn around just in time to see the train heading right for them. They serve out of the way just in time before the train smashes them to pieces. the engine starts to sputter and it sounds like it almost stopped working. they finally reach Hogwarts. they don’t know what to do so they just let the car go into the woods by itself. they run into Hogwarts and make it just in time to go to the Great Hall. Harry still doesn’t believe Dobby. Everything starts out fine until Harry starts hearing voices in the wall. He stops into the girls bathroom and finds a diary that said Tom Marvolo Riddle. He opens the diary only to find that the pages were empty. Harry brings the diary back to his dormitory to look at it more closely. He shows the diary to his friends: Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger. They didn’t know anything about the diary. One day in the common room Neville tells Harry that his room was robbed. Harry goes to see his room only to find that Neville was right. He goes up into one of the corridors and sees spiders scurrying out a window. Ron and Hermione go with him. They see Mrs. Norris hanging from the wall. Lots of other bad things start happening. Harry ends up in the Chamber of Secrets. He has to rescue Ginny Weasley from dying and he also has to defeat a terrible monster that is about to destroy the school. He is a very brave wizard!

My favorite character in this book was Ginny Weasley because she likes Harry and she got saved by him. She is the youngest and she reminds me of me, so that is why she is my favorite.

I liked this book because Harry was very heroic and he saved Ginny and he was the one to find the diary.
